From Team Leader to Career Enabler 

When Hayfa Ali enrolled on the Coaching and Mentoring programme, her goal was clear: to become more structured and effective in supporting both her own development and the growth of her team within the security industry.

One standout example involved supporting a colleague who wanted to move into a completely different field: cyber security. 

“By applying the coaching techniques I learned, I was able to effectively support her during our sessions. She has since started a course in cyber security and is progressing well.” 

These ongoing coaching conversations have not only strengthened her colleague’s confidence and career direction, but also reinforced Hayfa’s own aspiration to help others achieve their professional goals. 

A Learning Experience That Felt Truly Supportive

Despite not usually enjoying online learning, Hayfa described the experience as engaging, inclusive, and highly supportive. 

“I can honestly say that I have never been trained by two individuals as supportive as these tutors. They are always available to assist us and tailor their training sessions to accommodate every learning style.” 

The flexibility, accessibility, and tutor support helped create an environment where learners from diverse industries could collaborate, grow their networks, and learn from each other’s experiences.

Looking Ahead

The programme has strengthened Hayfa’s long-term ambition to support people in achieving meaningful career progression and personal growth.

Hayfa is now the Coaching & Mentoring Ambassador for the International Professional Security Association (IPSA), the largest membership association for individuals and companies working in the security and fire sector.
