We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring Head of Quality, Curriculum & Inclusion to lead our quality strategy and ensure every learner receives an outstanding educational experience.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping the quality of education across our apprenticeship and commercial provision. You’ll lead curriculum innovation, drive continuous improvement, champion inclusive practice and ensure Hawk remains inspection-ready while delivering exceptional outcomes for learners and employers.
This is a remote position, but you will be required to spend a minimum of 2 days per month working in our offices based in Twickenham.

What you'll be doing:
You’ll provide strategic leadership for the quality of education across all areas of Hawk Training, ensuring our curriculum remains relevant, engaging and delivers exceptional outcomes. You’ll help our delivery teams continually improve through coaching, collaboration and professional development to ensure every learner has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leading quality across the organisation:
- Develop and deliver Hawk’s Quality Strategy, ensuring it aligns with organisational objectives and sector requirements.
- Lead the organisation’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), driving continuous improvement across all provision.
- Provide expert leadership on teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum design.
- Lead and develop the Programme Design & Development Manager, Quality & Development Leads and Training & Quality Coordinator, creating a high-performing quality function.
- Contribute to organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Shaping an outstanding curriculum:
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of apprenticeship and commercial programmes.
- Ensure curriculum intent, sequencing and delivery meet employer needs, apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements.
- Oversee the work of Programme Leads, ensuring consistency and high-quality curriculum design across all subject areas.
- Champion innovative teaching methods and digital learning through platforms such as Aptem.
- Ensure curriculum changes are effectively planned, communicated and supported through staff development.
Driving quality and inspection readiness:
- Lead Hawk’s quality assurance framework, including observations, moderation, standardisation, learner voice and quality reviews.
- Own the annual Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and oversee the delivery of the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Act as Hawk’s Ofsted Nominee (or support the nominee where appropriate), leading inspection preparation and coordinating inspection activity.
- Ensure quality evidence is accurate, meaningful and demonstrates the real impact of our provision.
- Build strong relationships with awarding organisations and End Point Assessment Organisations, ensuring compliance and quality standards are maintained.
Championing inclusion:
- Lead Hawk’s approach to inclusion and learner support across all provision.
- Embed inclusive practice into curriculum design, teaching and assessment.
- Work closely with colleagues across safeguarding, learning support and functional skills to deliver a joined-up learner experience.
- Ensure reasonable adjustments and learning support are consistently implemented.
- Monitor learner outcomes across different groups, using data to identify opportunities for improvement and close achievement gaps.
Developing our people:
- Lead a high-quality CPD programme focused on teaching excellence and current educational practice.
- Promote consistent approaches to teaching, learning and assessment through effective standardisation.
- Coach Quality & Development Leads to confidently support and challenge delivery teams.
- Foster a culture of reflective practice, innovation and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for an experienced education leader who combines strategic thinking with a passion for improving learner outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Significant leadership experience within Further Education, apprenticeships or work-based learning.
- Excellent understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and apprenticeship quality requirements.
- Experience leading quality improvement and successful inspection preparation.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, teaching, learning and assessment.
- Experience leading Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP).
- Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills.
- Experience using quality data to drive improvement and inform strategic decisions.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience acting as an Ofsted Nominee.
- Knowledge of the Further Education & Skills Inspection Toolkit.
- Experience working with apprenticeship funding rules and End Point Assessment Organisations.
- Understanding of SEND, inclusion and learner support strategies.
- Experience leading digital learning and curriculum innovation.
