Apprenticeship Overview

The Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship is designed for individuals moving into senior or strategic management roles. It focuses on developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to lead and manage at a strategic level within an organisation. The programme includes a blended learning approach, combining one-to-one coaching, live remote workshops, online learning journeys, and project-based work to support learners in becoming effective senior leaders.

Who Is This Apprenticeship For?

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals in, or aspiring to, senior leadership roles, such as General Managers, Senior Managers, Executives, Directors, and C-suite leaders. It is suited for those who are responsible for setting organisational strategy, managing significant change, and driving business performance at a senior level.

Learners Will

  • Receive one-to-one coaching and mentoring sessions
  • Participate in live remote workshops and interactive pre-recorded sessions
  • Complete a minimum of 6 hours of study per week, including practical and project-based learning
  • Develop skills in leading teams, managing organisational change, and implementing strategic business plans

The Apprenticeship Journey

This apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning with a structured blended approach, including live remote workshops, coaching, and interactive e-learning. Learners will work closely with a coach and tutor to develop their strategic management capabilities and apply their learning to real business challenges. At least 6 hours of study per week is required, which will include working on a strategic business proposal, leadership tasks, and project management activities.

End Point Assessment (EPA)

The final assessment for this apprenticeship includes two key methods:

  1. Strategic Business Proposal, Presentation, and Questioning: The apprentice will complete a strategic business proposal with a real business impact. They will deliver a 20-minute presentation, followed by a 40-minute Q&A session to demonstrate their strategic leadership skills.
  2. Professional Discussion (Portfolio-based): The apprentice will participate in a 60-minute discussion with an independent assessor, reviewing their portfolio of evidence and discussing the application of their learning in practice.
