Apprenticeship Overview

The Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship is designed for individuals who manage teams and/or projects and have responsibility for planning, delivering, and achieving departmental goals and objectives. This apprenticeship focuses on developing the skills needed to lead operational activities, manage resources, and support organisational goals. It combines face-to-face tutorials, remote workshops, and e-learning, with practical work-based training to develop effective operations management capabilities.

Funding Options

  • Levy employers: £9,000
  • Non-levy employers: £450

Who Is This Apprenticeship For?

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who are already in operations management or senior leadership roles, such as General Managers, Senior Managers, Executives, or Directors. It is designed for those who wish to develop advanced leadership, project management, and operational skills, with a focus on organisational growth and transformation.

Learners Will

  • Receive one-to-one coaching and mentoring sessions
  • Participate in live remote workshops and complete online learning journeys
  • Develop practical skills in managing people, operations, and resources
  • Complete a minimum of 6 hours of study per week, including work-based learning

The Apprenticeship Journey

This apprenticeship combines one-to-one coaching, live remote workshops, and online learning modules to equip learners with the skills required for effective operations management. Learners will complete a variety of formal assessments, including the development of a strategic business proposal, and be assessed on their practical application of knowledge and skills through a portfolio of evidence. They will also have at least 6 hours of protected study time each week.

End Point Assessment (EPA)

The final assessment for this apprenticeship includes two key methods:

  1. Portfolio of Evidence: The apprentice will generate evidence throughout the apprenticeship, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they have acquired. This evidence will be reviewed during a professional discussion.
  2. Project Report and Presentation: The apprentice will complete a project that addresses a real business challenge, then deliver a 20-minute presentation followed by a 40-minute Q&A session to demonstrate their ability to apply their learning.
