PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This is a great opportunity for someone with an inquisitive mind and storytelling ability to turn data and research into actionable business insights. They will work with the Head of Research, two Senior Research Executives and a Research Executive on the team to generate commercial, pioneering and topical insights.

We have numerous projects on-the-go to get involved with, as we work at the heart of a fast-paced media company. It will depend entirely on the individual’s strengths and skills as to how they drive these projects and the team forward. However, it is essential that the candidate for this role is a good team player – demonstrating their commitment to continuous development of self, as well as the team.

Working within the research team, the role of Research Co-ordinator requires someone who is highly numerate and analytical, with the ability to use data to generate creative ideas and analysis which they can confidently present. They will not need to present often, but if this is an area they would like to grow confidence in we have multiple opportunities for them to assist.

The role will involve a lot of written communication and summarising of findings so they will need to have good command of the English language and exceptional attention to detail.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
They will be heavily involved with supporting the Head of Research to carry out campaign analysis and deliver strategic insights to the entire business to drive revenue. This will require someone with strong project management skills as they will be collecting information for the Head of Research to ensure that the campaign research project plan is filled in accurately and on time. They will also need to be a good communicator as they will need to liaise with numerous internal stakeholders such as Sales, Digital Operations, Brand Comms, Marketing and Design to supply the research agency with copy, timings and a filled in research plan all before campaigns go live.

They will be responsible for helping the research team to collate data and insights that will help Sales to answer client briefs (e.g. this could be a media agency looking to understand whether to advertise a new film - targeted at 16-24s - on London Buses or on TV). The Research Co-ordinator will therefore need to learn and use a wealth of market research tools and databases. They will need to investigate what’s happening in the market to help answer these types of queries and we have multiple templates they can use to guide them. They will be expected to work with other members of the team to summarise findings and create outputs such as infographics, fact sheets, blog posts or PPT case studies.

This role is for someone who is keen to be creative with insights, and able to collate research to tell a story and explain the bigger picture. They will need to be happy to assist the team to create innovative surveys by offering up ideas in our weekly team meeting and proof reading surveys before they go live.

If they would like to develop their marketing skills in this role we also have the opportunity for them to help run our Twitter platform, use our Voxpopme, qualitative video platform, or learn how to use Sitecore to; upload case studies to the website to improve traffic to our Research section of the Exterion website.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • GCSEs Maths and English A-C or equivalent

Training provided
Successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to complete a fully certified Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration, which will cover the following standard:

Course Type: Apprenticeship Standard

Apprenticeship Delivery: Work based qualification. A tutor will visit you every 4-6 weeks in your work place.

Units Covered:
The Apprenticeship programme is made up of different units.  Apprentices will be assessed on their knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout the apprenticeship and tracked online using an e-portfolio.

These are grouped into 3 themes which complement each other and are as follows:

  • Core Business & Administration
  • Managing Self & Personal Skills
  • Using Resources & Achieving Results.


Assessment:

  • After each theme is complete, a Mock End Point Assessment is carried out to ensure apprentices are prepared for the End Point Assessment at the end of the programme.
  • After a minimum of 372 days and successful delivery of the programme, the end point assessment will take place. The end-point assessment is a synoptic assessment of the skills, behaviours and knowledge that have been developed throughout the apprenticeship.
  • End-Point Assessments will involve an independent assessor carrying out final assessments with the apprentice, to ensure that the competences and learning within the ‘Apprenticeship Standard’ have been met. 
  • Apprentices can achieve a pass, merit or distinction dependent on how well they perform in their End-Point Assessment.

Functional Skills: 
Apprentices also work towards a Level 2 qualification in English and maths in the first half of the programme if they have no prior exemption (GCSE’s  A – C or equivalents in English and Maths).
