NDC Services was formed in 2008. Nick Carter, business owner has over 30 years experience in transport and logistics. Continuing a family tradition started by his father he also has extensive knowledge of the hay and straw business.

NDC Services is a provider of logistics solutions dealing with anything from aircraft, boats and portable accomodation, to hay and straw. We can manage the paperwork and supervise personnel on site for larger projects requiring multiple resources. Although based in Surrey we operate nationwide.


Full description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Accounts Administrator to work for NDC Services who are a provider of logistics solutions.

The role will be to work as part of a team supporting the office admin function within NDC Services Ltd.  Reporting to the Office Manager and providing support to the Financial Controller and Transport Administrators.

  • Updating the purchase ledger with purchase invoices.
  • Drafting and sending out sales ledger invoices.
  • Chasing for payment of invoices.
  • Completing the petty cash journals regularly.
  • Updating the PO log with invoice details.

Office support

  • Placing orders for office stationery and consumables.
  • Updating the job book spread sheets.
  • Updating the company calendar with job details.
  • Helping with answering the phones and taking messages.


Internal Training

  • Full internal training given to enable the candidate to complete the tasks given


Future Prospects
A permanent position may be available on successful completion of the apprenticeship. The opportunity will involve learning other aspects of the transport and logistics industry, alongside completing AAT qualifications.


Skills required

  • Previous experience within administration and/or accounts environment, but this is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages inc Word and Excel
  • Good attention to detail
  • Methodical approach
  • Able to see tasks through to completion


Qualifications required

  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, A – C (function skill or key skill, level 2).


Personal qualities

  • This is a very busy but fun office environment.
  • Able to work effectively within a team
  • Good communication skills

Level: 2
Duration: 12 months
Course Type: Apprenticeship Framework

Apprenticeship Delivery: Work based qualification. A tutor will visit you every 4-6 weeks in your work place.


Units Covered:
The programme is spread across 12 months and typically covers 15 units with the option to take on extra stretch and challenge units if desired. These units are split into 3 themes which complement each other and create a better learning experience:

1) Communication in Business

2) Administrative Services and Functions

3) Working in Business Teams


The programme will also require the apprentice to cover Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)


Functional Skills: 
Apprentices also work towards a Level 2 qualification in English and maths in the first half of the programme if they have no prior exemption (GCSE’s  A – C or equivalents in English and Maths).
