Main Purpose of the Job
The role of the Learning Management System (Barking, Havering and Redbridge Education Staff Training (BEST)) Administrator Apprentice is to assist and support the BEST Applications Systems Adviser in providing first line support to all users of the Trusts learning management system (BEST). Day to day services include data inputting, managing the workload in the shared mailbox and developing a technical expertise in the resolution of issues associated with the system. A good knowledge of I.T applications is considered essential for the post holder. Customer service duties are an important component of the role, and necessitate a positive attitude in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and varying requests for information and guidance. The post holder will work under close supervision and escalate and issues that may arise to the BEST Applications Systems Adviser. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide information and advice relating to BEST.
  • Responding to requests and individual needs.
  • To correctly forward requests to the appropriate teams.
  • Manage the shared mailbox and escalate any issues.
  • Assist in making administrative changes within the system.
  • To be courteous, helpful, flexible and responsive to all users at all times.
  • Ensure customer response times are maintained as far as is practicable.


Desired skills

  • Database entry, inputting and retrieval
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Confident use of computer packages such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Personal qualities

  • Excellent customer care skills, via face to face, written and verbal methods
  • Ability to prioritise allocated workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Receptive and open to feedback


Qualifications required

  • GCSEs Maths and English A-C or equivalent 


Successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to complete a fully certified Apprenticeship in an Intermediate Business and Administration, which will cover the following frame work:

  • Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration
  • Knowledge component
  • Employment rights and responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
  • Functional Skills Maths & English

This Apprenticeship is funded for the duration of:12 months
