Full description

We have an exciting new opportunity available for an Apprentice to join our IT Developer Team.

The successful candidate will join an in-house team that develops its own software solutions. Full guidance will be given on understanding new and existing application functionality and business processes across HML’s infrastructure.

The IT Development team have a number of opportunities for the right candidate.

Duties to include:

  • Maintain an understanding new and existing application functionality and business processes across HML’s systems
  • Liaise with development team to clarify support issues and resolve bugs
  • Assist with the execution of test cases & scripts
  • Assist with the production of system documentation
  • Co-ordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) as required
  • Assist in the preparation of release documentation and user training material
  • Provide 1st line application support to users of HML systems as appropriate, answering and logging support calls, advising solutions and workarounds
  • Assist with the organisation of the IT Development team work backlog
  • Prepare reports summarising development work progress

Internal Training

Course Type: Apprenticeship Framework

Apprenticeship Delivery: Work based qualification. A tutor will visit you every 4-6 weeks in your work place.

Functional Skills: 
Apprentices also work towards a Level 2 qualification in English and maths in the first half of the programme if they have no prior exemption (GCSE’s  A – C or equivalents in English and Maths).
