About the Team
The ICT department (including this position) provides services to all members of the firm. The ICT Helpdesk team provides 1st/2nd and 3rd line support to over 500 computer users at various levels, the majority of whom are senior fee-earners operating to very tight business deadlines, with varying degrees of ICT system knowledge. The firm operates out of 9 locations across the UK.

The ICT Helpdesk is covered by a shift rota Monday to Friday and receives approximately 100+ telephone calls and e-mails per day, of which 75% are resolved on first contact.

The team works hard, maintaining a positive attitude, working together with everyone contributing, reflecting the firm’s continued success and fee-earners’ expectations.

 

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to gain administrative and technical experience within a large ICT Team and to develop a career in ICT Support. As the ICT Administrative Apprentice, you will undertake a range of administrative support duties on behalf of the ICT Team and support with larger ad-hoc projects.

During the Apprenticeship, you will work towards your Business Administration NVQ Level 2. Alongside your daily responsibilities, you will have an assigned assessor who will provide you with additional training sessions and assessments to help you achieve the qualification.

After the Apprenticeship, although there is no guarantee, there is a possibility of future employment with Gerald Eve LLP if a vacancy exists.

 

 

Main responsibilities

  • Undertaking general administrative duties on behalf of the ICT Team including photocopying, printing, scanning and filing
  • Responsible for the administration of in-house ICT training, including sending out invitations, setting up required rooms, updating attendance record and collecting evaluation forms
  • Process all ICT related invoices, ensuring that they are approved and passed to the Finance Team for payment
  • Ensured that all ordered equipment is logged correctly and can be matched to delivery notes and subsequent invoices
  • Receiving deliveries, keeping a log of new equipment and labelling equipment appropriately
  • Support with undertaking a physical audit of the firm’s technology equipment
  • Escalate issues to the helpdesk team
  • Support with ad-hoc ICT projects

Apprenticeship Delivery: Work based qualification. A tutor will visit you every 4-6 weeks in your work place.

 

Units Covered:
The programme is spread across 12 months and typically covers 15 units with the option to take on extra stretch and challenge units if desired. These units are split into 3 themes which complement each other and create a better learning experience:

  1. Communication in Business
  2. Administrative Services and Functions
  3. Working in Business Teams

 

The programme will also require the apprentice to cover Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)


Functional Skills:
Apprentices also work towards a Level 2 qualification in English and maths in the first half of the programme if they have no prior exemption (GCSE’sA – C or equivalents in English and Maths).
