Employer Description:

Private College which works in collaboration with Middlesex University and which provides post graduate training and studies in psychotherapy, counselling and coaching.

Duties include:

A vacancy has arisen for an Administrator based in North West London.

You will be involved with general day-to-day office administration and will work within the team which supports: Research, Website development and Marketing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly team player, who has good attention to detail and a 'can do' approach to work.

You will also have good organisational skills and be flexible to the needs of the company and especially its academic and training mission.

An interest in and basic knowledge of the field of psychotherapy and counselling would be an advantage.

You will become part of a small, busy, friendly team and have the opportunity to develop your career in a forward thinking and dynamic company.

You will be responsible for general day to day administration including:
Your duties will include many elements, such as:

  • Answering the telephone
  • General daily administration which will include filing and photocopying
  • Assist the Academic Registrar in the processing of essay marking
  • Use of various computing programmes such as Microsoft office, web-based browsers, gmail, webpages, and gmail
  • Creating mailing lists e.g. to Universities and professional bodies
  • Support attendance at meetings with key Academic professionals
  • To ensure materials, refreshments and lunches are ordered and delivered for all training and assessment board sessions and to manage contingency plans, if lunches/materials are not delivered.

Desired skills:

  • To be able to prioritise and manage own workload
  • To have reasonable IT, literacy and numeracy skills and be willing to develop these further
  • To  be willing to develop good customer focus and relationship building skills
  • To have good communication skills both verbally and written
  • To be able to work effectively in a team as well as individually

Qualifications Required:​

GCSE Maths and English A - C grade or equivalent preferable

Personal Qualities:

  • To be self-confident and willing to take responsibility
  • To be able to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • The post holder should have the ability to work in a multi cultural environment that meets the needs of the service users
  • To be enthusiastic about working in an academic and training environment

Things to consider: 

Saturdays may need to be covered on occasions where time off will be given in lieu.

Future prospects:

Possibility of securing permanent position.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage:

This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour.
