Geeta Bhatoa

I began working for Hawk Training in January 2018 and I am part of the Business Administration tutor team. I work with apprentices within the Cabinet Office and within the NHS who are working towards either a Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 Apprenticeships in Business Administration.

My role is diverse and enjoyable, and no two days are the same. I am responsible for upskilling apprentices within their placements and preparing them for end-point assessments as well as developing their functional skills in Maths, English and ICT. I have worked within the apprenticeship sector for over 13 years and find so much enjoyment in bringing out the best in others. I have been on an incredible journey throughout my career and have met so many talented people along the way.

Around 2012 I had a career break due to wanting to start a family and I felt at that time, I began to lose touch with the industry. I went to a few different organisations but for a long time I could not find that work-life balance that we all crave.

When I joined Hawk Training, I joined at a time when I discovered that I was being made redundant and I have never looked back. Hawk Training welcomed me into the team as if they had known me for years. I felt supported and nurtured into the role in every single way. From the day of my interview until my induction sign off date, I felt that I had so much support from everyone in the organisation and everyone believed in me.

I began as a full-time employee and this meant travelling into central London from Kent daily. I began to find this a slight challenge, as I was dealing with some behavioural issues with my daughter who requires a lot of care and attention from me as a single parent. I felt that the Directors at Hawk Training and the HR division were so approachable, that I confided about my struggle and they gave me the option of working part time which I accepted, and I honestly feel that I have the best work life balance that I have ever had working for any organisation. Hawk have made me feel so empowered and I feel that I have been able to bring my passion into this organisation and do what I do best.  Hawk Training recognise hard work and they reward and recognise where it is deserved.

As well as having the chance at personal growth at Hawk, I have also been given so much opportunity to upskill and develop further so that I can excel even further in my career.

Be Social @ Hawk

We celebrate our people through a mixture of seasonal parties, competition away days and Hawk Hero awards. Whether you are office based or field based, we celebrate birthdays, successes, marriages and new babies.  We also partake in an array of charitable events such as Macmillan coffee morning and Christmas jumper day and have supported people with half marathons and charities close to their hearts.   

Behind the scenes!

Located in Twickenham, our lovely offices are home to our support staff (HR, Finance, Data, Admininstration, Operations, Marketing, Business Development team, IT and the Directors.) Our own Hawk apprentices recently held their own Learner Forum for 40 of our apprentices from various employers and we hold Employer Forums twice a year. We have welcomed many MPs, employers and visitors in, as well as our Learning and Development teams on their bi-monthly team days!
